A golf league is a group of players who play the same course each week and compare scores. In a Rev Tour league you play one round a week at a rotating set of local courses over the season. You can usually play your round any time during the week's window — you don't all have to tee off together — then your score posts to the league.
How flights keep it fair
The thing that stops a league from being "whoever's the best golfer wins every week" is flighting. Players are grouped into flights by ability, so you compete against people who shoot roughly what you shoot. That's what makes a league fun for a 12-handicap and a 25-handicap at the same time.
